5 on Friday

I love my kids whole heartedly but if I'm being honest, there are times when they try my patience and I may not always like them.  But in those moments, it's nice to be able to reflect on cute candid moments that reinforce exactly why I love them so much.  Because kids really do say the darndest things.  So as always, on this first Friday of 2020, here are 5 special reasons I'm loving my boys this week (Christmas Edition): 

1.  Carl:  Nate, tell your Mom what you did while she was gone.  Nate:  Mom, I cleaned my room.  I straightened and vacuumed and I cleaned the bathroom.  Me:  Oh wow, really, did Dad tell you to do it?  Nate:  No, I did it on my own!  Me:  Oh okay well I need to see this.  Nate:  Yeah, I cleaned the mirror and wiped the counters, are you proud of me?  Me:  Yes I am.  Nate:  Now I'm off the naughty list and Santa HAS to bring me presents.  Me:  Oh goodness!

2.  Nate:  Oh wow, the police station has Christmas lights on it!  Carl:  Yes, a lot!  Nate:  We should tell them that they did a good job on that, we can call and let them know.

3.  Me:  J make sure you clean off your bed.  J:  Okay (as he pulls the comforter off the bed).  Me:  J you don't have to do that, just clean the clothes and towels.  J:  But I know what I'm doing mother.  Me:  Oh okay, do your thing!

4.  Nate:  Justin, calm down, you don't wanna miss all the Christmas fun tomorrow so calm down, okay!

5.  Radio:  All I want is a Hippopotamus for Christmas.  Me:  I have never heard this song before:  Carl:  Me either.  Nate:  I have!  Me:  Of course you have, you've been listenting to 100.3 since Halloween.
